Sunday Papers Live, 16 April
April 27, 2017
It was great to do my Top Bonkers Things About Gravity at the Sunday Papers Live. How to describe the event? Well, it all happens at Cecil Sharp House, Regents Park, London. The whole place is kitted out with sofas and armchairs and rugs and people are encouraged to wear slippers and treat it like their home. Bring their dogs. Bring their babies. Play board games. Listen to live music. Have Sunday lunch. And, all the time, up on the central stage, there are talks and debates on politics, sport, travel… all the things you get in the real Sunday Papers. Honestly, it is totally brilliant. Relaxed, stimulating and fun.

Who needs Googlemaps when you’ve got Steve Cross, compère of @ThePapersLive? He’s got a map of London on his shirt!

BBC’s John Sweeney: “Where am I going with this argument? Oh, fuck it, I can’t remember!”

Former couch potato Dave Cornthwaite skateboarded across Australia (among other things). Respect!

Why not put your feet up and come and listen to @ThePapersLive?

Talking about gravity at @thepaperslive was fab. But having an all-round 360 degree audience was terrifying!

A very lovely and very gentle dog that rested its head on my leg when I was listening to the @ThePapersLive

Telling the audience at that the ‘force’ of gravity doesn’t exist. Not sure if they believed me!

“Will nonscientists like us get your stuff?” “Well, I write for my wife over there, who has no science background”

Fancy doing a jigsaw or playing Scrabble?

Delicious Sunday lunch being served in the basement!

Want to paint an Easter Egg, anyone?
